Here are some FAQ’s about NEWBORN SESSIONS:
-How do I book a session? Because of their unpredictability, I simply reserve you a spot based on your due date for after you give birth. Most moms simply send me a Facebook message or email while they are still in the hospital, so that I know when the baby was born and can plan accordingly.
-When do you photograph my newborn? I prefer to capture newborns between the ages of 4 and 10 days old – when I can capture them sleeping peacefully all curled up and comfy just as they recently were in utero.. After a week, babies tend to be more alert and colic and baby acne appears. It is to my and your advantage to photograph them as soon as possible.
-Can you come to my home? To make it easier for the baby and mom, I shoot newborn sessions at the client’s home. Having your photo session take place in your home gives the session a level of intimacy and a personal touch. Aside from ‘studio images’, I love getting personal with lifestyle images to capture the interactions of the new family’s first few days together at home. .
-How long does a session last? The average session is 2 1/2 – 3 hours long… some are shorter, some are longer, it is really up to the baby.
-What do I need for the session? Just the baby and anyone or anything else special you want in the photo. I’m stocked full of blankets, baskets, wraps, hats and headbands. I acquire blankets and props literally every month, even almost weekly to keep things fresh and new. You’re welcome to buy your own props to use in your session as well. I understand what it is like to be home with a newborn. Your job is to focus on your new baby. My job is to capture that new relationship.
