I’ve been thinking a lot the last few months about where my business is headed and where I want it to be.  We all know that changes are usually needed for one to grow, but they are also very scary, overwhelming, and filled with uncertainty. But here I am, take the plunge and following my heart.

So here’s the thing…. (I’ll make it short and sweet.)

I love photographing families and children, and I really love my clients. I really do. I have some faithful clients that have repeatedly supported me and I want to continue to work with them. But It’s been in the back of my mind for some time now to specialize. Why? Because the more I shoot, the more I begin to refine my skills in certain areas and feel the need to focus on that – to specialize in that one thing that I can easily imagine doing every day for the rest of my life.

After having this business for close to 4 year, I realized that I don’t just love photographing babies; I have a real passion for it. I want to do more of it, get better at it, and do it all the time. I want to put my heart and soul into it. So I’m going to specialize in newborn to one-year-old photography.

What does that mean, really? Well, it means that for now on, my main focus throughout the year will be newborns and Cake Smash sessions.  To free up my schedule to allow for more of these sessions to get booked, I will no longer be booking full sessions for families on a regular basis – aside from 3 or 4 already booked. I’ll be hosting mini session events for families and children on set dates. I hope to be able to offer these mini sessions in the spring, summer and fall – possibly around the holidays as well. These will be fun, styled sessions and I hope to catch up with your growing family in one of these events!

I’ll be sending out info about the Mommy & Me Minis and Spring Minis soon! These two events are going to be awesome, as I’m planning some real fun things for both! So keep an eye out for a newsletter soon.
