A Baltimore Newborn Session for a Returning Family | Sugarloaf Photography

There are families you photograph once, and then there are the ones who come back as their family grows. This Baltimore newborn session was especially sweet because I first photographed this family when they welcomed their baby boy. A few years later, they were back in my studio, this time with a beautiful baby girl.

I always love seeing familiar faces again. There’s something special about knowing I’ve already been part of one of their biggest milestones, and now I get to photograph an entirely new chapter for them.

From Their First Baby to a New Little Girl

I got to photograph their little boy as a newborn, so seeing him now as a big brother was especially fun. It’s hard not to think about how quickly those years go by. The babies who once fit so perfectly in your arms become the little ones standing beside you, holding their new sibling.

And now they have a baby girl to love and watch grow. What a beautiful new chapter for this family!

Newborn Portraits That Feel Like Your Family

Every family has its own style, and I love taking the time to make each session feel personal. During the planning process, we talk about colors, textures, and the overall look you love so the finished gallery feels right for your family and your home.

For this session, we focused on a variety of beautiful newborn portraits while making room for family photographs with big brother, too.

I always encourage parents to include siblings in their newborn session. These photographs become such a lovely reminder of the beginning of their relationship, especially as the years go by and their personalities start to shine through.

If you have an older child, don’t worry about how they’ll behave during the session. I have plenty of experience working with little ones, and I’ll guide everyone through the process so you can relax and enjoy being together.

Why I Love Photographing Returning Families

After 15 years of photographing babies, seeing families return never gets old. I get to catch up, see how much their little ones have grown, and meet the newest addition to the family.

It’s also one of the reasons I love specializing in newborn photography. I get to meet families during such an important transition, and sometimes I get to be part of their story more than once.

This Baltimore newborn session was a lovely reminder of that. Photographing their first baby and now welcoming his little sister into the studio made this visit extra special.

Newborn Photography for Baltimore and Baltimore County Families

Sugarloaf Photography is located in Bel Air, Maryland, approximately 30 minutes outside Baltimore. I welcome families from Baltimore, Baltimore County, Harford County, and surrounding areas who are looking for a boutique studio experience.

Many of my clients make the short drive from Baltimore for their newborn portraits. The studio is fully equipped for newborn sessions, with a curated wardrobe of wraps, bonnets, headbands, and beautiful styling options. Everything is prepared ahead of time, so you can focus on your baby and enjoy the experience.

If you’re planning a Baltimore newborn session, I recommend getting in touch during your second trimester. We reserve a tentative spot based on your due date, then finalize the session once your baby arrives. Most sessions take place when babies are between 7 and 14 days old.

If you’re expecting and would love newborn portraits for your growing family, I’d love to hear from you.
